Last Day of Classes at DMPS to be Thursday, June 5
The weather in Iowa can be unpredictable, and this winter was no different as snow and cold led to several late starts, early dismissals or school cancellations at 半岛体育.
Because of that, and in order to meet the state鈥檚 legal requirements for the amount of instruction time, we must add a little extra time to the school year. Wednesday, June 4 will now be a regular full-day of classes and the last day of school will be Thursday, June 5.
Classes will dismiss early that day at the following times:
- Elementary 鈥� 12:35 PM
- Middle 鈥� 1:25 PM
- High 鈥� 1:15 PM
The last day of Preschool will be on Wednesday, June 4 rather than Tuesday, June 3.
This winter DMPS had five two-hour delays, one two-hour early dismissal, and two full day cancellations.
The school board will vote to officially adopt this change to the calendar at their meeting on Tuesday.
